Is an electronic signature legally valid in Nigeria?
Nigerian laws such as the Evidence Act 2011 and the Cybercrimes Act 2015 recognise electronic signatures in many situations. Some documents, for example wills and certain land documents, still need handwritten signatures or witnesses. Always check with the organisation asking you to sign. This is general information, not legal advice.
Is this the same as a digital certificate signature?
No. This tool places a visible signature on the page, like signing with a pen. It does not add a certificate-based digital signature from a licensed provider. For most forms and everyday agreements a visible signature is what people ask for.
Is my signature uploaded or stored?
No. Everything happens in your browser. If you tick “Save on this device”, your signature is kept only in your own browser storage so you can reuse it. You can delete it at any time.
Can I sign on my phone?
Yes. Draw with your finger, or type your name and choose a handwriting style. You can also upload a photo of your signature on white paper and we remove the background.
Can I sign every page, or add initials?
Yes. Select a signature, initials, date or text and choose “Repeat on pages” to copy it to all pages, or all pages except the first.
Can the signed PDF be edited afterwards?
The signature, date and text are flattened onto the page, so they become part of the page. Keep your original file in case you need to make changes.
Can I sign a password-protected PDF?
Yes, if you know the password. You will be asked for it. The signed copy is saved without the password.
