Frequently asked questions

Will every table be found?

Tables with clear columns are found well. Tables with merged cells or no spacing between columns can be split wrongly. Always check the numbers against the PDF.

Why are my numbers still text?

Keep “Turn numbers into numeric cells” ticked. Values like 1,200.50, (300) and 12% are converted. Codes with leading zeros, such as phone numbers, stay as text on purpose.

Can it read a scanned PDF?

Yes. Turn on “Read scanned pages (OCR)”. Results depend on how clear the scan is.

A table runs over several pages. What should I do?

Tick “Join tables that continue on the next page” and choose one sheet per table. They become one table, and repeated headers are removed.

Can I get CSV instead?

Yes. Choose CSV under “File type”. You get one CSV file, or a ZIP of several.

Is my file uploaded?

No. It is processed inside your browser.

Is PDF to Excel really free to use?
