Frequently asked questions
How much is the NYSC allowance?
The federal government raised the corps member allowance to ₦77,000 a month, with payments starting in March 2025. This calculator starts with that figure, and you can change it if the amount changes or you receive a different amount.
How long is the service year?
Service lasts 12 months. Some corps members are paid late or in batches, so you can reduce the months here if you want a shorter or safer estimate.
Does my PPA pay extra?
Some employers (called PPAs) and some states pay a monthly top-up. Enter it under PPA or state top-up. Many pay nothing, so leave it at zero if you are not sure.
Is the allowance taxed?
This calculator does not deduct tax. Check with NYSC or your PPA if you are unsure about your own case.
